Fostering ResilienceMany children process their experiences very differently from adults. How do we communicate with young children about potentially traumatic situations in a way they understand? One way is to offer them a children's book with characters going through similar experiences. Educational Tip of the Month:
August, 2014: Watch and discuss television shows, movies and videos with your adolescent. Check your teen's understanding and encourage him/her to ask questions and relate the show to real-life experiences. Be your own movie critic and develop a family rating system.
